In light of the somewhat steep price for ETV we have organized a student auction so that those of you who want to go can volunteer your services for certain blocks of time to work off some of the cost. For the next few Sundays the Koinonia we will have a table set up in the foyer of the church where people can sign up and bid on pairs of students for a block of service time. They will decide the project, they will set the hours, and they will name the price. Your job could be doing a yard project, washing a car, cleaning some gutters, mowing lawns, tidying house, or something completely different. If the only thing holding you back from going on the summer retreat is coming up with the money to go then this is your opportunity to get some fast cash in exchange for a little grunt work. Let me know if you're interested if you haven't already.

Hey Josh!! That sounds lie a really good idea, and if I was going to be home for the retreat then I would totally go for working off some of the price...if anyone needs any help with working then I would be glad to help them, even if I'm not working for myself...

That's really sweet of you, Bekka! If we have anyone without a partner or a pair of people would really like to have you help work with them then I'll let you know. I really wish you could come on the retreat with us, you'd have a lot of fun. I hope you can come with us next year if we end up doing ETV again (which we will, I think).
I really like the idea of working off the price of ETV. However the only day’s I’m going to be available to work would be Saturdays and Sundays and some Wednesdays and Thursdays...is that ok or not??
Hay Josh!!! Ok so you know the guy who spoke at Winter Youth? Well I know his daughter and I invited her to come to ETV with us. However she said that it is to expensive. I don’t know if she would be able to work because she lives in Portland are there any scholarships available I could let her know about?
Crystal, I'm sure your schedule is going to work fine for working. Don't worry about it. And yes, we would have scholarships for your friend. We can't pay her whole way but we could definitely help her out if she wants to go. Let me know if she wants to go for sure by Sunday so tat I can register her. How do you know Rick McKinley's daughter by the way?
Hey I was thinking about this whole working idea, and I was wondering if we could do the same thing for winter youth, because it would make it easier for at least me I know, because even though it is cheaper than ETV, it is still a hefty price
It's possible. Your, right that Winter Youth is pretty hefty, I'm just not sure if we will or not yet. One thing is for sure, I don't want anyone not coming who would really like to come just because of the money issue. We will always find a way for people to come, whether it is scholarships or working off the money. I'll see if I can do it again for Winter Youth.
